Wayne Davenport
August 11, 1939 - October 1, 2020

Wayne Davenport, 81 of Brookland, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2020 at his home. He was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born to the late Curt and Lois Davenport. Wayne retired from General Electric after thirty-five years and went on to raise cattle on his farm at Goobertown, Arkansas for another fifteen years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; one brother: Jay Davenport; and one sister: Louise Williams. Wayne is survived by; his wife, of almost sixty years: Linda Davenport; one son: Ken Davenport (Tammy); one daughter: Carol Rupard (Randy); five grandchildren: Hannah, Kendall and Kaitlyn Davenport, and Josh and Chelsea Rupard; one great granddaughter: Reece Wilkes Rupard; one brother: Roy Davenport; two sisters: Jane Guest and Glenda Copeland; and a host of other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Lottie Moon offering fund at Nettleton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2415, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72402 The family has requested a private disposition under the direction of Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas.

    Linda, Wayne was a true friend. Murl and him loved to pay jokes on people in maintenance at GE. He was quiet but sneaky. In building his shop, I enjoy being with you and him. Just found out just now, but I feel your pain.

    Linda, I was saddened and shocked to learn of Wayne's passing in the newspaper. I think of you often and recently drove by where you used to live on Hwy 49.
