Lloyd Dale Harlan
September 22, 1967 - April 6, 2020

Lloyd Dale “Bubba” Harlan, 52, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2020 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born September 22, 1967 in Jonesboro, to Joy (Hoggard) Harlan and the late Lloyd Dale Harlan, Sr. Dale graduated from Westside High School with the class of 1985 and remained very close to many of his classmates throughout his life. He chose truck driving as his career and drove a big rig for over 25 years; during this time he traveled almost all the lower-48 states. He loved to sing and had a beautiful baritone voice. As a child he was known to imitate Elvis, but later in life he developed an avid love for country music. He often sang the songs of his favorite country singer, Waylon Jennings at karaoke venues, as a special guest with some local country music bands, and in the living rooms of many friends. Bubba loved to meet up with friends and family at local restaurants to share a cup of coffee and swap stories. He never met a stranger and if you were lucky enough to meet and talk with him, you had a friend for life. He loved animals and supported local animal rescue groups by donating funds and adopting cats and dogs. He leaves behind his four beloved “critters,” three cats and his very special dog, Patton, all of whom he made certain were placed in loving homes before he died. He was a life-long member of the Bono Church of Christ. Most importantly, before parting this life, he let his family know that he was at peace with God, through Jesus Christ and being at peace, “the little things don’t count anymore.” He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Dale Harlan, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Sam and Meda Harlan; his maternal grandparents Chester and Velma Hoggard; and his very special Uncle and Aunt, Ches and Helen Cooper. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Belinda Fleming of Kansas, Maria Bolt (Mike) of Kansas, and Jennifer Jasinski (Mike) of Jonesboro; the love of his life, Polly Harlan of Jonesboro and children, Madison Wise of Jonesboro and Zach Wise of Bryant. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends who he loved dearly. A celebration of his life will be planned and announced at a later date. For lasting memorials consider making a contribution to one of these organizations: Jonesboro Animal Control (in honor of Patton), 6119 E. Highland, Jonesboro, AR 72401; the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, 6111 E. Highland, Jonesboro, AR 72401 or on-line at www.neahs.org; St. Bernard’s Medical Center (for Cancer Care) 400 E.
