Joey Lewis
September 19, 1951 - March 11, 2020

Joey Lewis passed away Wednesday, March 11, at the age of 68. He had been a farmer in Success, an over the road trucker, and a City of Pocahontas employee. Joey was born September 19, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Joe and Marilyn (Colley) Lewis from Success, Arkansas. He is survived by his two daughters: Amy Kelly and Greta Lewis of Little Rock; his granddaughter: Hannah Kelly; his sister: Kim Young of Paragould, Arkansas; his nephew: Curt Young (Tara) of Jonesboro; great niece: Julia Young; great nephew: Joseph Young; his uncle and maternal aunt: Joe and Carolyn (Colley) Huber of North Richland Hills, Texas; and several relatives, classmates, and friends: Linda Malone, and special friend Ruth Schaa. Joey was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew: Matthew Lewis Young. He graduated from Corning High School in 1969 where he excelled as a football player which resulted in being named as All State and an honorable mention All American. He was a Bud man, a Cardinal fan, and never a Hall of Fame man. He was a self-proclaimed yellow dog Democrat; he enjoyed discussing history and politics. He was a movie enthusiast. Cremation has been chosen as the final disposition. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.     Joey grew up next door to our cotton gin in Success. He was a wonderful young man, close friend,tremendous athlete and sometimes a pest.
