Mrs. Darlene K. Griggs, age 56 of Wynne, Arkansas, passed away September 26, 2015 at the St. Bernardâs Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born August 27, 1959 in Wynne, she was the daughter of the late Farrest and Pansy Immel and was a longtime area resident. She enjoyed working in her yard, being outdoors, reading, cooking for her family and spending time with her two granddaughters Bailey and Tatum Ellis.

Mrs. Marveline Shrable, 73, of Manila, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Mrs. Shrable was born on June 14, 1942 in Dyess, Arkansas to the late Sidney and Odlene Smith Posey. Mrs. Shrable was a member of Souls Harbor Church and enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores.

Born July 22, 1951 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the Byron Curtis and Frankye Sue Tuttle Rogers, Jr. and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Carol Faye Walker, age 72 of Bay, Arkansas, passed away September 16, 2015 at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born February 18, 1943 in Egypt, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Dorothy Connor Parker. Mrs. Walker was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Learning Center. She enjoyed buying jewelry, shopping on QVC and decorating. She especially enjoyed taking care of her great-grandchildren.

Mr. Douglas J. Smith, 80, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away at his home Monday, September 14, 2015. He was born June 22, 1935 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late Chester and Pearl Shasteen Smith and was of the Baptist faith.

Dr. Howard Leslie Nelson, 88, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville on September 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Gabe and Eunice Nelson. Dr. Nelson was the dentist in Manila for 40 years and a lifelong resident of Northeast Arkansas. He was a WW II Navy Veteran and was very supportive of veterans' causes. Mr. Shirley was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 25 years and was a member of the Jonesboro Chapter American Legion.
