Velda Jane Sykes Swain, 57, of Manila, Arkansas went to heaven on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born on October 2, 1954 in Osceola, Arkansas to the late Charles and Kathleen Sykes who died when she was five years old. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Frank and Althea Westmorlan. Ms. Swain was a member of the Manila Church of Christ, a beloved teacher for 30 years at West Memphis Christian School,
Mr. Jack Poyner, 72, of Bald Knob, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 after a battle with cancer. Mr. Poyner was born on December 8, 1939 in Farrenburg, Missouri to the late Willy Ensely and Cornelia Virginia Poyner. Mr. Poyner was of the Baptist faith and served his country in the Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and a mechanical genius.

Mr. Vernon Edward McMinn, 68, of Manila, Arkansas died on Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. McMinn was born on June 5, 1944 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Thurmand E. and Wonnie McMinn. Mr. McMinn was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed doing things to help others, carpentry work, and working on old cars.

Mr. Theodorus Pete Theodoropoulos, 76, of Marmaduke, Arkansas died on September 17, 2012 at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Theodoropoulos was born on June 17, 1936 in Zevgolatio Messinia, Greece to the late Pete and Asemo Theodoropoulos. Mrs. Delores Ann McClard, age 66 of Black Oak, Arkansas, died September 13, 2012 at her home. Born March 17, 1946 at Newberry, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Beulah Green Sheppard. Mrs. McClard retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan and was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Clio, Michigan. She enjoyed singing in the choir, crocheting, sewing, knitting and collecting.
